Gershwin wrote the piece of music "An American in Paris" in 1928, In 1951 it inspired a film of the same name. Follow the link to watch the film "An American in Paris" in which George Gershwin inspired. He also wrote the score for the film and included some of his famous songs like "I've got rhythm"

Using a voice recorder of some sort talk from 3 to 5 minutes about what you think are the most significant musical influences on Gershwin's work.

I want you to listen to these styles of music from the late 19th Century and the early 20th century.
I want you to find 2 or 3 pieces from each style of music and comment on each. Pick out the key characteristics from each style.
